Are you getting the geo targeting on your Facebook and Instagram ads right? I was served an ad for a private school this week. The ad was fantastic. Great copy. Great video. The only problem? It was for a school on the other side of the country from me. And it wasn’t a boarding school.
One of the most important things about Instagram and Facebook ads is making sure that you’re showing your ad to the right people. Part of that comes from the audience you choose. And with each audience you choose, you get to select the geography for your ad.
If you’re selling a digital product (like digital curriculum) you probably want to show your ad everywhere in the United States. You might also want to include Canada, United Kingdom & Australia.
But if you have a brick and mortar location like a law office, or a school, you want to make sure that you are only showing your ad to people who are within driving distance of your location.
